Makin' hay
Saturday - 11.07.09 I should be excited today; DG is baling
hay. Problem is; The hay is sparse and we just bought two
more racks of small bales to the tune of $4.00 per bale.
We're hoping that we have enough to get through the winter.
Horses do not understand running out of hay. At least the
rain stopped long enough for us to get the last cutting of
hay cured and baled. We're round baling for the first time.
Mike drove the new (to us) IH tractor to the farm and Shawn
took the baler up. I hope it is going well.
I, instead of baling, am putzing. Do you ever putz? I had
about 47 errands to run and am now home putzing. This post
is a bit of putzing. I'm also making a loaf of bread, mak-
ing elk stock and minestrone soup. The TV is on a music
channel so that I can dance and shuffle as I putz. I may
have to go outside to putz in the garden. The Indian summer
has finally come to the river valley. It is gorgeous today.
I'm gonna try to rescue a few more tomatoes from the frosted
vines.
